BASE 4-5-4

this is a solid organic fertiliser with an NPK of 4-5-4. It delivers a higher nutrient density than standard chicken manure pellets.

balanced NPK ratio of 4-5-4, developed as a nutrient-efficient base fertiliser. The formulation is designed to deliver more functional nutrients per kilo and per euro.

The BASE fertilizer

A large part of the organic fertiliser market is built around standard chicken manure pellets. These products mainly deliver organic matter, but often come with a low nutrient density per ton and high application volumes.

BASE 4-5-4 is composed of a wider range of organic materials and therefore offers a very broad nutrient profile.

This product was developed to compete directly with chicken manure pellets and therefore offers:

Key benefits

  • Higher nutrient density

  • Quality driven: 90% dry matter and 60% organic matter.

  • Broad macro- and micronutrient availability

  • Gradual nutrient release for sustained plant support

  • Suitable as a base fertiliser, both standalone or combined with mineral fertilisers

  • Improves soil health, water retention of the soil and root development

Why organic base fertilisers

Organic base fertilisers play a different role than mineral fertilisers, generally offering key benefits:

  • Improved nutrient retention
Organic matter helps bind nutrients in the root zone, reducing leaching losses..

  • Better soil structure
Contributes to aggregation, water infiltration and workability of the soil.

  • Higher nutrient-use efficiency
Especially when combined with mineral fertilisers, organic bases improve overall fertilisation efficiency.

  • Support of soil biology
Organic inputs stimulate microbial activity, which supports nutrient cycling and availability.

Who is this for

  • professional arable and vegetable growers

  • farms operating with organic or integrated fertilisation strategies

  • distributors seeking a scalable, clearly positioned organic fertiliser

  • markets where price, transport costs and application rate are key decision factors

  • Designed for cost-efficient bulk distribution

  • Suitable as standalone base or in combination with chemical fertilizers

Application rates

Application rates depend on crop, soil conditions and fertilisation strategy.
Due to its higher nutrient density, required rates are typically lower than those of standard organic fertilisers.

Indicative guidelines:

  • Low-input systems: 300–800 kg per hectare

  • Base fertilisation in arable crops: 800–1500 kg per hectare

  • Intensive or perennial systems: 1000–2000 kg per hectare

Final rates should be adjusted based on soil analysis and local agronomic advice.

Packaging & storage

Available in:

  • 25 kg bags

  • Big bags

  • Bulk (on request)

Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Protect from prolonged moisture exposure.

A Data-Driven Alternative

BASE 4-5-4 was designed as a direct alternative to conventional poultry manure pellets.
BASE 4-5-4 focuses on higher and more balanced nutrient availability per kilo, allowing growers and distributors to achieve comparable or better agronomic performance at a lower cost.

To ensure a fair and objective assessment, our comparison is based solely on data, figures and independent research, rather than opinions or reviews. A detailed, data-based comparison between BASE 4-5-4 and poultry manure pellets, including nutrient composition, agronomy and economic considerations, can be found on our Comparison pages below.
